Permanent Substitute Teachers (Certified)

We are seeking reliable, flexible, and dedicated Permanent Substitute Teachers to support our K–12 classrooms. This role is ideal for certified educators who are passionate about maintaining continuity of instruction and fostering a positive learning environment in the absence of regular classroom teachers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • deliver instruction and manage classrooms across various grade levels (K–12) and subject areas as assigned
  • follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher
  • maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment
  • adapt to different classroom settings and student needs throughout the school day
  • communicate effectively with school staff and administration
  • uphold school policies and procedures at all times

  • responsibilities include covering both teacher aide and lunch monitor roles

Lunch MonitorsRP-3 (2)

The Lunch Monitor is responsible for providing supervision and support to students during lunch and recess periods to ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful environment. This position contributes to the overall safety and well-being of students by monitoring behavior, assisting with transitions, and maintaining cleanliness in designated areas. The Lunch Monitor upholds district policies and procedures while promoting positive student interactions.

For district schools, as follows: 

  • Elementary Schools: 5 days per week, 3 hours daily (10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.)
  • Middle school: 5 days per week, 3 hours 45 minutes per day (10:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.)

Overnight Substitute Security Guard PositionRP-7 (2)

Northport–East Northport School Security operates 24/7, 365 days per year, providing district-wide security coverage for all 10 school buildings. We are currently seeking an Overnight Shift Substitute Security Guard. This position requires availability for the 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM overnight shift, mainly on weekends. Flexibility is essential, as guards may be assigned to various shifts and to any of the district’s 10 schools as needed. Guards will also be expected to work holidays and support after-school events, and must be able to respond to the scheduling needs typical of a substitute position.

Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Typical Days: Primarily Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

 

$21 per hour
Substitute Security GuardRP-6 (2)

Northport-East Northport School Security is a 24/7, 365 days per year security operation. The district provides security for each of the 10 school buildings throughout the year. Guards MUST be flexible and will be asked to work various shifts in any of the 10 schools within the district. Guards will be asked to work holidays and after-school events.

$21 per hour
