| Coordinator of Elementary Literacy (PK-6) | 9-26/27 | The Coordinator of PK-6 Literacy oversees and provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of the district's early literacy program, initiatives, and curricula and coordinates literacy-related professional learning. This administrator works closely with teachers, instructional leaders, and administrators to evaluate programs and instructional practices, fostering a coherent system of literacy instruction grounded in evidence-based practices and the Science of Reading. By identifying and implementing opportunities to strengthen the quality and coherence of the district's literacy programs, this individual maintains high standards and demonstrates strong instructional leadership through strategic planning, collaboration and continuous improvement. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - leads the design, implementation, alignment, and evaluation of a comprehensive PK-6 literacy program and curricula, ensuring coherence across grade levels and alignment with the Next Generation English Language Arts Standards and the Science of Reading
- provides leadership and vision for district-wide literacy initiatives, ensuring the effective implementation of evidence-based instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.

- aligns Pre-K emergent literacy experiences with K-6 expectations to ensure a seamless transition into formal reading and writing instruction
- creates systems for the analysis of literacy data, including universal screeners, benchmark assessments, and the New York State Grades 3-8 English Language Arts Assessment and collaborates with teachers and administrators to strengthen instruction and student outcomes
- coordinates and refines the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to ensure that Tier 2 and Tier 3 reading interventions effectively supplement core classroom instruction
- coordinates and optimizes efforts to meet students’ reading needs through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), including supporting specially designed reading programs recommended in IEPs.
- ensures programmatic alignment across general education, special education, ENL, and AIS services to support the needs of diverse learners
- evaluates and recommends literacy instructional materials, programs, and interventions, ensuring alignment with district priorities and state guidance
- develops tools and systems to monitor program implementation and effectiveness, including classroom observations, instructional walkthroughs, and collaboration with administrators to support school improvement efforts.

Additional Roles and Responsibilities: - oversees the district’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program, ensuring alignment between early childhood literacy experiences and elementary instructional expectations
- coordinates kindergarten screening and early literacy assessments, supporting a smooth transition into formal reading instruction
- develops and maintains partnerships with regional literacy organizations, higher education institutions, and professional networks to enhance literacy initiatives and access to resources
- supports district initiatives related to early literacy, family engagement, and reading development, including workshops, outreach events, and community partnerships
- facilitates district literacy committees and working groups to support program review, instructional coherence, and continuous improvement
- collaborates with district and building administrators on staffing projections, program planning, and resource allocation to ensure educationally sound and fiscally responsible literacy programming

Minimum Training and Experience: - knowledge of national and New York State standards, specifically, but not limited to the Next Generation Standards in English Language Arts and the Science of Reading and best instructional practices for implementation and instruction related to said standards and approaches for reading support and interventions
- evidence of educational leadership, including leading teams, initiatives or programs with proven effectiveness

| Assistant Principal: Middle School | 10-26/27 | The Middle School Assistant Principal supports the Principal in fostering a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment that promotes the success and well-being of all students. This role involves leadership in instructional supervision, student support services, staff development, community engagement, and operational management. The Assistant Principal is expected to model professionalism, provide a visible and supportive presence in the school and school community and contribute to the continuous improvement of the school community. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - engage in continuous dialogue with the Principal on school goals, objectives, and pertinent matters.
- develop annual professional goals with the Principal, presenting these before the start of each school year
- provide regular informal updates on progress and consult on significant issues affecting the school community
- conduct evaluations of instructional staff in alignment with New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations, district policy, and relevant contracts
