The Northport-East Northport School District invites motivated aspiring educators to join our unique Teacher Immersion Program. This is more than just subbing—it's a paid opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while receiving mentorship, training, and professional support.
GET PAID TO TEACH: Earn a competitive daily rate while building your resume.
MENTORSHIP & SUPPORT: Receive paid training before you start, plus ongoing guidance from experienced NYS certified teachers.
GAIN REAL EXPERIENCE: Work district-wide at the elementary or secondary level, putting your skills into practice.
BUILD YOUR SKILLS: Develop essential classroom management, lesson delivery, and student engagement techniques.
A FOOT IN THE DOOR: Make professional connections and become a familiar face in a district committed to new educators.
This program is designed to set you up for success.
PAID TRAINING: Participate in two (2) AM half-day instructional training sessions.
CLASSROOM SHADOWING: Observe and collaborate with an experienced teacher for two (2) PM half-days.
START SUBSTITUTING: Upon completion, you are eligible to begin substituting district-wide when not attending classes or student teaching.
$148/day for up to 40 days
After certification, $159/day for to 50 days, $168/day for 51+ days
We are seeking Undergraduate or Graduate students currently enrolled in an education program.
