Job Description

Grades 9-12

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide standards-aligned English as a New Language (ENL) instruction to high school multilingual learners.
• Collaborate with content-area teachers to support students through co-teaching, scaffolding, and differentiated instruction.
• Develop and implement lessons that strengthen students’ academic language, literacy, and content knowledge.
• Monitor student progress and use assessment data to adjust instruction and provide targeted support.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate regularly with families, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
• Support an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment that values students’ diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Dates of Leave:

• Effective approximately November 11, 2026, to approximately mid-February, 2027

 

 

 

Job Qualifications

Required Certification:

• Candidates must possess a valid NYS teaching certificate in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), All Grades, or be eligible for appropriate New York State certification
