Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with grade-level curriculum, standards, and district expectations to promote student learning and achievement.
• Plan and implement differentiated instruction that addresses the academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs of all learners.
• Implement evidence-based literacy practices aligned with the Science of Reading, including explicit and systematic instruction in foundational reading skills.
• Collaborate with the grade-level team and support staff to analyze student data, identify areas of need, plan responsive instruction, and monitor student progress.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student participation, independence, belonging, and a love of learning.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress, classroom learning, and ways to support student success.
• Establish and maintain developmentally appropriate classroom routines, expectations, and behavior supports

Essential Skills and/or Experience:

• Experience in elementary settings.
• Training and/or experience implementing the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy practices

 

Job Qualifications

Requirements:

• NYS Certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1–6) required OR
• NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) required
• NYS Literacy Certification (Birth-Grade 6), preferred 
• Effective approximately from November 18, 2026, to March 1, 2027
