Job Description

Cook

10 months — September through June 

Monday through Friday–7 hours daily

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares and cooks meals daily  on a large scale
• Supervise food service workers in the preparation of food and the cleaning of the kitchen
• Maintain inventory and order food/supplies as needed

Essential skills and/or experience:

• Must have school food service, supervision and leadership experience
• Experience with online ordering systems preferred

Job Qualifications

• 1st consideration will be given to the internal candidate
• Minimal 1 year of food service experience
• Must have or signed up to get a Suffolk Food Manager Certificate.
• Must have a good knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing food on a large scale.         
• Must have knowledge of common recipes, health hazards in food preparation and service and necessary precautionary measures.
• Must be trained in the use POS system.
• Physical condition must be commensurate with the demands of the position.
