Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time Business Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop and deliver engaging lessons in business, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, accounting and technology. The candidate will foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills among students while preparing them for success in college and careers.

Essential Skills and/or Experience:

• Plan and deliver curriculum-aligned lessons in business-related subjects.
• Incorporate real-world applications, project-based learning, and technology into instruction.
• Facilitate student participation in business clubs, competitions, and events (e.g., DECA, Business Honor Society, school store).
• Assess and track student progress, providing feedback to support growth.
• Maintain a classroom environment that encourages creativity, respect, and collaboration.
• Stay current with trends in business education and integrate innovative practices into teaching.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide initiatives and interdisciplinary projects
• As a teacher in the Academy of Finance program, collaborate with colleagues, advisory board members and industry partners to provide real-world experiences to students (guest speakers, tours, workplace site visits, internships, etc.).
• Knowledge of IB curriculum is a plus.

Preferred Skills and/or Experiences:

• Experience teaching or working in the business field is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment

Job Qualifications

Required Certifications:

• Valid NYS Business and Marketing or Business and Distributive Education teaching license.
