Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide speech-language consultation, evaluation, and therapy to middle and high school students, and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff and families to support communication skills that enable students to access the curriculum and achieve their individualized education program (IEP) goals.

Essential skills and/or Experiences:

Experience serving as a member of the Committee on Special Education (CSE), contributing to the development, review, and implementation of IEPs.

Buildings:

Northport High School (Grades 9-12) and Northport Middle School (Grades 5-8)

 

Job Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Effective August 31, 2026, to June 30, 2027
• NYS Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or
• NYS Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD)

Preferred Skills and/or Experiences:

• Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply
• Secondary experience preferred
